Our week in the Loire

Amboise - day 3
We decided to take a drive to the Chateau du Luce’, the home of Leonardo da Vinci for the last few years of his life by invitation from King Francois 1 in 1516. The Chateau is decorated as Leonardo would have known it as it retained many items of the original furniture. The vast gardens are designed as a tribute to Leonardo’s genius depicting many of his inventions reproduced within the gardens and forest. All made by IBM, worth the visit for anyone going to the Loire.

Amboise also runs a market Sunday mornings and we arrived early to take in the atmosphere. The typical rural French characters appeared with woven baskets over the arm to buy their produce for the week. All manner of vegetables, fruit and meats.

We bought a rabbit for dinner.
As we left, the heavens again opened up so there goes another day for a ride. Didn’t want to get the white bike shoes dirty!!!!
Gotta go now and help Sue with the rabbit. Well she cooks and I pour the wine. Blanc or rouge dear????
