With just 3 days before Sue and I fly out for Paris, I've finished reading Greg Moody's sequel to Two Wheels, another Cycling Mystery Murder novel. The second of five books takes us through the Tour de France.
The key figure, Will Ross is back as the team lieutenant in the Haven Pharmaceuticals squad. The mystery revolves around an undetected performance enhancing drug that already has caused the death of a Dutch cyclist before the Le Tour. A key figure from the last novel, Inspector Luc Godot, a Columbo clone is now an employee of Haven Pharmaceuticals discovers some truths about the Team Sponsor while Will Ross deals with his isolation from his team members.
There's a romantic interest from Cheryl Crane the team 2IC and the femme fatale Magda Gertz.
Yes I know, It sounds really trashy - and it is!!!
But I really like riding with Will in the spring classics and now the Tour de France. We all fantasize about these races as we ride down Beach Road. Not to be taken seriously, these books need to be read with a light hearted sense of humour.
